Internships and Volunteer Positions
Throughout the year, there are a variety of opportunities to volunteer with the NEC to help us continue our important work for our forests, coasts, rivers, and communities. For 45 years, the NEC has relied on the energy and commitment of our volunteers to achieve goals that would not be possible without your help!
You, too, can contribute to these goals with the gift of your time. Tasks range from small yet helpful tasks, such as delivery of EcoNews, to those that require special skills or a longer-term commitment, like website upgrading.
Coastal Programs & Cleanups
Coastal Cleanup Day Volunteers - Sign up to lead a team or join an existing team to clean a beach or waterway on International Coastal Cleanup Day in September. CLICK HERE for more information, or CLICK HERE to sign up.

EcoNews and Technical Help
EcoNews distribution - Deliver copies of EcoNews to area locations convenient to you! We need your help to get EcoNews out to our readers! EcoNews is published every other month and we need your help to keep the paper in stock around the region.
EcoNews writing & proofreading - Want something covered in EcoNews? Contact the editor at email@example.com to offer to write a piece for the next edition of EcoNews. You can also help by coming into the office to proofread every two months, before EcoNews goes to print.
Graphic Design - Create a variety of visual digital graphics for use on our website and social media, and print materials for tabling and educational purposes. Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign required. Interpretive skills are a plus!
Office Assistance and Event Planning
Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator - Help us herd our cats! Well, we don't really have cats, but we could use some help coordinating volunteers and spreading the word about our events.
Event Assistance - The NEC has regulary fundraisers, movie nights, and other fun events. To volunteer your time, sign up for our volunteer email list by clicking the link below and stay up to date on upcoming events.
