There are over 1000 Transition initiatives around the world, responding to uncertain times with creativity, solutions and “engaged optimism.”  Transition communities do a variety of activities including: creating local currencies, growing food in public spaces, localizing their economies, skill sharing and developing community energy production. It’s an idea that has gone viral, a social experiment that is about responding to uncertain times with solutions and optimism. In a world that is awash with gloom, here is a story of hope, ingenuity and the power of taking control of our own destinies.
