Morning tours are led by RRAS, and afternoon tours are sponsored by FOAM.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING! The Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary needs your help to welcome and educate its thousands of yearly visitors. Come learn how to lead tours and/or staff the Interpretive Center’s front desk during a weekend session sponsored by Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM). FOAM’s fall volunteer training will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, August 14-15 at the Interpretive Center on South G Street, Arcata. Local experts will use lectures and field trips to teach about birds, plants, wetlands, invertebrates, Arcata Marsh history, the wastewater treatment process, and how to lead tours. Docent manuals will be distributed. Morning snacks are provided; lunch is on your own. Bring rubber boots for a mud walk. Pre-registration required; call (707) 826-2359 to sign up.
